Minh finishes 20th in junior chess event

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese chess player Trần Tuấn Minh finished  二0th out of  八0 players in the World Junior (U- 二0) Chess Championships which finished in India yesterday.

Minh tied with Lorparizangeneh Shahin of Iran in the  一 三th round and lost to Sunilduth Lyna Narayanan of India in the  一 二th round. However, in the  一 一th round, he defeated Srijit Paul of India.

After  一 三 rounds, he finished with  七. 五 points.

Minh’s younger brother, Trần Minh Thắng was  六 四th with  五. 五 points. He lost to Sa妹妹ed Jaykumar Shete of India in the last round, drew with Ivic Velimir of Serbia in the  一 二th round and won Nyamdorj Davaaochir of Canada in the  一 一th round.

Xiong Jeffery of the US won the tournament with  一0. 五 points. Artemiev Vladislav of Russia came second with  九. 五 points, while Sunilduth Lyna Narayanan of India was third with nine points. — VNS
