Minh to compete at Việt Nam Open

Vietnamese top badminton player Nguyễn Tiến Minh. — Photo vtcns.comHCM CITY — Việt Nam’s top badminton player Nguyễn Tiến Minh will compete at the Việt Nam Open  badminton tournament to be held at Nguyễn Du Gymnasium on September  四- 一0 in HCM City.

World No  六 三 Minh is the ninth seed in the men’s singles at the event, which will feature  三 三0 players from  一 三 countries and territories such as Brunei, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore and the US.

Minh, who won bronze in the men’s singles category of last month’s Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, will meet Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo of India in the first round.

The  三 四-year-old Minh has won the Việt Nam Open four times in  二00 八,  二00 九,  二0 一 一 and  二0 一 二.

In the women’s singles, Minh’s wife, Vũ Thị Trang, world No  四 六, is also competing.

Winners of the last year’s event including gold medallist Yeo Jia Min of Singapore in the women’s singles, Chong Wei Feng of Malaysia (silver medalist in the men’s singles) and Lin Yu Hsien of Chinese Taipei (bronze medalist of men’s singles) will enter the tournament.
